ABOUT THE BOOK
Having a school named in one’s honor is a major distinction that is achieved by very few people, but Thelma Smiley Morris was much more than a name on an elementary school building in Montgomery County, Alabama. She was a wife and mother, a dedicated educator, a devoted churchwoman, a mentor to thousands of children who grew up under her influence, and a valued friend and colleague to many, many persons who knew her over her long life. With foreword by Coretta Scott King.
